Israel’s Sons

2 These^(A) were Israel’s sons:

Reuben, Simeon, Levi,

Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

²Dan, Joseph, Benjamin,

Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

Judah’s Descendants

³Judah’s^(B) sons: Er, Onan, and Shelah.^(C) These three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanite woman. Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the Lord’s sight, so he put him to death.
